Euler Institute Successfully Hosts K12 Teacher Capacity Building Webinar

Posted on July 20, 2025 by Admin

The Indonesia Euler Institute (Akademia Multidisiplin Euler) successfully conducted a comprehensive webinar focused on K12 teacher capacity building, attracting 166 educators from across Indonesia.

Bringing Real-World Engineering to the Classroom

The webinar, titled “Dari Sederhana ke Kompleks: Bagaimana Sistem Per-Massa Menjelaskan Banyak Hal dari Trampolin hingga Rekayasa Pesawat” (From Simple to Complex: How Spring-Mass Systems Explain Many Things from Trampolines to Aircraft Engineering), was presented by distinguished speakers Triwanto Simanjuntak, PhD and Dr. Eng. Ressa Octavianty.

The 2-hour session demonstrated how fundamental spring-mass-damper systems serve as the foundation for understanding various real-world applications, from playground trampolines to sophisticated vibration control systems in modern aircraft.

Wide Participation from EMSC Partners

We were thrilled to welcome 145 teachers who joined this professional development opportunity. The participants included educators from all our EMSC partner institutions as well as teachers from various regions across Indonesia, reflecting the growing interest in innovative STEM education approaches.

The diverse participation demonstrated the commitment of Indonesian educators to enhancing their teaching methods and bringing cutting-edge engineering concepts into K-12 classrooms through accessible, hands-on learning experiences.

Practical Applications for Classroom Learning

The webinar was structured in two main parts:

Theoretical Foundation: Participants explored real-world problems involving spring-mass systems, mathematical derivations, and how complex engineering problems can be simplified into engaging learning moments for elementary, middle, and high school students.

Practical Implementation: The session introduced versatile experimental modules that can be adapted for different grade levels and learning objectives, complete with detailed instructions, safety guidelines, and curriculum alignment suggestions.

Empowering Educators with Confidence and Tools

By the end of the webinar, participants gained practical tools and confidence to transform their physics lessons into dynamic, inquiry-based experiences that show students the fascinating connections between classroom learning and real-world engineering solutions.

All attending teachers received certificates of participation, recognizing their commitment to professional development and educational excellence.

Continuing Our Mission

This successful webinar reinforces our commitment to supporting educators across Indonesia in delivering high-quality STEM education. We remain dedicated to providing ongoing professional development opportunities that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

We extend our gratitude to all the educators who participated and look forward to hosting more capacity-building initiatives in the future.
